Through programs at monthly meetings and interactions with beekeepers, the High Land Beekeeping Club provides ongoing and updated education for its members.
Beekeeper education is the primary focus of the High Land Beekeeping Club. Programs at our monthly meetings focus on topics related to maintaining healthy, sustainable bee colonies, best practices in beekeeping, research and studies, and the products of the hive.
We invite outside experts to speak at our meetings as well as utilizing the expertise of our own members. Members of our club are encouraged to attend outside beekeeping classes such as the Summer and Winter Bee College programs provided by the Colorado State Beekeepers Association.
We encourage our members to take a basic beekeeping class and to take advantage of beekeeping lectures or seminars offered by the Colorado State Beekeeping Association or other organizations.
The club has a scholarship program for members to be reimbursed for their tuition in the CSBA Master Beekeeping Program. Members may apply for any level for which they qualify if they have been members of HLBKC for the previous year and maintain their membership throughout the program’s duration.
Note: the scholarships are available only to the CSBA Master Beekeeping Program and not to programs offered by other entities.
